Blondy Otu’s journey to becoming a successful CEO has been marked by a series of life-changing moments that have shaped her career and personal life. At the age of 40, she stands as a testament to perseverance, determination, and the power of embracing new opportunities.
Born and raised in a Christian home by Mr. Andy Kweku and Mrs. Grace Otu, has always been guided by the Christian fundamental principles, serving as a source of light shining through difficult moments and finding solace in the word of God.
As a teenager who grew up in Madina, a suburb in Accra, Blondy attended University primary school in Legon where she completed her basic education and later continued at Aburi Girls for her secondary education. She later went to Oxford Brooks University in the United Kingdom where she studied Business Administration for her first tertiary education.
She was a bright child from a young age, displaying a keen intellect and a natural curiosity for learning. In addition to her academic achievements, she also had a passion for athletics and quickly excelled in various sports. She dedicated time and effort to honing her skills, and soon became known as one of the top athletes in her age group.
Despite her busy schedule filled with training and competitions, she never neglected her studies. she consistently ranked at the top of her class, earning accolades for her exceptional academic performance. Teachers and peers alike admired her for her dedication and drive to succeed in all areas of her life.
Although she encountered challenges in her adolescent years, she was able to overcome peer pressure and stayed focused.
In February 2011, she worked with Archbishop Duncan Williams and his wife Lady Rosa Whitaker Duncan Williams where she started with the Church’s Scholarship Foundation, then moved to the HR department and later to manage the church’s clinic. She enrolled at Dominion university and had a degree in HR, and a second class degree in Business Administration.
She later served under the First Lady of Archbishop Duncan Williams (Lady Rosa Whitaker Duncan Williams) as an Executive Assistant to her company “The Whitaker Group based in USA. She extended her reach to work with the office of the Archbishop as the Events And Guest relations coordinator. It was a decade of service.
These experiences shaped her life and made her develop positive mindset towards work. In her decade of service taught her life lessons and consistency which drove her into entrepreneurship. She developed keen interest in Decluttering thus Clutter Solutions by Blondy, a company that deals in organizing space and clearing dirt. She also ventured in real estate business IBOWG (selling and buying of properties and land). She owns Binterior which specializes in interior decoration and recently open a new company called Body by Blondy (BBB) which focuses on everything a woman needs to look and feel confident under clothes.
She also run the Ascot diet program which helps men and women to lose weight the healthier way and enable them to maintain their weight loss as part of a lifestyle. It is evidential as she also lost 23 kilos herself whiles on this program. BBB also sells compression garments for pre and post op patients (compression garments for tummy tucks, lips, chin, breast, arm surgery, butt lift) We also sell intimate products for female hygiene.
She is currently enjoying her graduational success after studying at CEIBS Ghana , Women Entrepreneurship & Leadership For Africa (WELA).
This program is eye-opening and equips women entrepreneurs to grow their businesses successfully and to network with other women entrepreneurs across Africa. “I have met many wonderful women on this course and built new relationships and networks as well as gained a wealth of knowledge that would benefit my business decisions”, she said on a podcast show she mounted days after her graduation.
Recounting her experiences and setbacks, Blondy Otu counts motherhood as her greatest achievement and a strong family bond that serves as a bedrock to her successes and growth as a person. She is a mother of two and a beacon of hope to the younger generation. Blondy Otu goes by the mantra “It Can Only Get Better”.
